Our institution is mainly represented by:

  1. “Ioan Slavici” University Timisoara began its activity in the academical year 2000/2001, and nowadays includes over 1500 students in its two faculties:
    • The Engineering Faculty with one major: Computers
    • The Faculty of Economic Sciences with its major: Accounting and Administrative Informatics
  2. “Ioan Slavici” Economic Highschool (which began to function in the academic year 2001/2002, presently having 120 students)
  3. „IOAN SLAVICI” Center for Lifelong Learning

The two faculties have different majors where students can develop their skills and learn new theoretical and practical subjects in order to prepare a strong résumé for their professional career. Also, the partnerships signed with SMEs create an opportunity for different internships and possible jobs.

The campus of “Ioan Slavici” University includes: course and seminar rooms and laboratories, libraries, student campuses, cafeteria, sports field and recreational spaces.

The daily training activity of “Ioan Slavici” University is completed by the professional and scientific improvement training materialized in the organization of conferences, symposiums and round tables – including at an international level, the support and publishing of journals, books.

„IOAN SLAVICI” Center for Lifelong Learning provides courses for enhancing different competences and gain auxiliary skills for different specific jobs. Also, this center is dedicated to companies in different fields of activities to professionally train their employees.

Another field approached by our institution is research in engineering and Economics. There have been developed European projects regarding there research subjects and other social matters among which we mention Flexible modular equipments for numerical conducts of the technological processes , 2008/2009, Structural Funding, POS-CCE, Operation 3.1 start-up and spin-off, Ministry of Education and Research and Technological parks for innovation and Trans-European Cooperation – European Commission Brussels, 2008/9, project number 135741-RO-2007-KA3-KA3MP.

„IOAN SLAVICI” Foundation for Culture and Education is the founder of “TIM SCIENCE PARK”, which is a technological and scientific park, just been awarded by the Education and Research Ministry First Prize at national level.

Also, the Foundation has its own Publishing House, “Ioan Slavici” Publishing House and its own newspaper, “Demnitatea” (The Dignity). Another relevant aspect is the “Scientific Bulletin” that gathers qualitative engineering and economic articles from young researchers, students and valuable Professors.

The teaching stuff is mainly formed by Ph.D Professors and Researchers but also gives the opportunity to young Assistants to become experienced Professors in their area by collaborating with the elder stuff.
